Scale Fittings Class: 30-50 & 500-600 LHC202
Scale fittings are not difficult to make, but when a simple fitting kit comes along like this one,
it can't get any easier to add a little scale detailing to your model. It is the little things like the wire cutters
and antenna that can start the transformation from a stock fuselage into a good looking scale model. There is a lot
more you can do, but these fittings are an excellent starting point.

LHC202 Scale Fittings 30-50 Size $10.50
These injection molded plastic fittings are easily trimmed off the plastic tree (remember to leave the pin
portion attached) and painted before or after they are bonded to the fuselage. Typically, I will drill a hole a little smaller
than the diameter of the pin at the bottom of the fitting into the fuselage surface. Then roughen the fitting's mount
surface with a small file or a sharp knife to improve the adhesion of the Epoxy. You can use many types of adhesives, but
stay away from Cyanoacrylate types (CA) if your fitting is positioned near any clear parts. The fumes can 'fog' clear parts
and permanently damage them. Normally you do not need to do anything to the fuselage surface, but I always apply a little
more adhesive to the inside and build up a fillet around the pin, if it is accessible from the inside.
Include in the kit are wire cutters, pitot tubes, fueling values, four types of antenna and windshield wipers which are most
commonly found on full scale helicopters. You might not use all the fittings on one model, but there are enough to ensure
you can add realistic details to set your scale fuselage apart from other models at the flying field.
