Our 12mm rotor head system was developed with two main goals: high strength and simple maintenance. Our results
greatly exceeded our expectations; resulting in an under-slung flybar head with a highly adjustable damping system
for lifting or aerobatic styles of flying.

As you look closer at the details you start seeing all of the care and attention we have put into the
rotor head. Each main blade grip uses two radial ball bearings and a thrust bearing which is
supported on a hardened 10mm feathering spindle. Paramount to all rotor head systems is the attachment
to the main shaft; we use both a Jesus bolt and clamp design at the bottom of the rotor hub, to ensure
that the rotor head remains tight to the main shaft. Each key area was scrutinized during our
development and the Starwood rotor head system is a great product for large model helicopters and
industrial applications.
To assist customers in understanding our rotor head system, we have divided each key
area or main part into separate sections. All Aluminum components are manufacturer from T6061 grade Aircraft
Aluminum.

Bell Mixers:
- Machined Aluminum, solid bell mixer.
- Dual radial bearings with internal spacer and micro washer.
- Efficient 1:1 mixing ratio for smooth transitions.
Main Blade Grips:
- Machined Aluminum, solid main blade grip.
- Pitch arms are detachable and easily replaced.
- Blade grips supported on dual radial and a large thrust bearing.
- 10mm hardened feathering spindle, dampened with urethane elements.
- Spacers included for 12-16mm blade roots with 5mm blade bolts.
Flybar Control Yoke:
- Machined Aluminum, control yoke, seesaw mount and end plates.
- Steel 5mmx600mm flybar with large, aerobatic paddles included.
- Solid control yoke eases setup, adds strength and redundancy.
- Strong, ball bearing supported seesaw mounts attach to rotor hub.
- Rigid seesaw end caps support flybar on two radial bearings.
Rotor Head Hub:
- Machined Aluminum hub features an elegant, one-piece design.
- Adjustable head dampening by varying the urethane elements.
- 4mm Jesus bolt and hub clamp design to attach to the main shaft.
Washout Unit:
- Machined Aluminum base with dual Oilite bushings.
- Dual steel alignment pins match washout base to rotor hub.
- Bearing supported washout arm and its drag link.
- Each bearing pair has an internal spacer and micro washer.
Swashplate:
- Machined Aluminum 120° eCCPM ball bearing swashplate.
- Low profile swashplate to enhance available pitch range.
- Dual radial bearings with 12mm spherical bearing.
- Built-in anti-rotation mount and pin included.
- Strong 1/4" steel control balls throughout.
