1/9th Jet Ranger Instrument Panel Class: 30-50 Models SPS001
Super Scale has started its product offering with the Jet Ranger instrument panel. This instrument panel will fit most
of the 30-50 series fuselages but was designed for the Funkey fuselage which are better known under their branded names
by several major model helicopter manufacturers.
The instrument panel requires the builder to assemble the balsa wood base, prep and paint using
a base color then apply the included instrument decals to the molded panel. Using a little creativity and patience even
beginners can achieve a very detailed result. As a final step, the panel should be
fuel proofed using a clear coat to 'seal' in the decals and protect them from the nitro methane.

Assembly Instructions:
|
1. Start by assembling the two side frames that form the base for the instrument panel. Insert all three square balsa stock pieces and position
the assembly on the edge of a box or similar surface to ensure the main panel mounting edges are parallel. Using medium CA (cyanoacrylate)
remove one balsa piece at at time and bond in place. |
 |
|
2. Once the base frame is bonded together you can test fit the panel mount into the front section of the fuselage and any additional cuts in the base can be
made to get the fit just right. Continue to sand the edges of the frame until you can position the base with good contact between the mount and inside
fiberglass surface.

3. Having dry fitted the main panel and center console, make pencil marks on both side of the frame base. The areas
where the balsa wood panel base touches the fiberglass needs to be sanded before it can be bonded in place. Remove the components
and bond the resin parts to the frame base using medium CA or Epoxy.
| |
|
4. Prime and paint both the base and the resin parts with a base color. One by one, cut out the instruments and glue them to the panel.
Fitting of the glare guard will take a little patience, dry fit it and trim as needed. Once you are satisifed with the fit, glue the guard
to the edges of the resin panel. After that is dry, the finished instrument panel can be bonded into the fuselage using Epoxy.
