1/6th Apache IR Jammer Set Class: 60-90 Models SPS004
Modernized AH-64 Apache helicopters are now fitted with multiple infra red (IR) radar jammers in addition to the original radar warning antennas.
This scale accessory is designed for the D version of the Apache, but with little modification can be used on the A version. Also included are the two video pods now
standard on the Apache D. These resin cast parts are easily bonded to the fuselage side and help add that scale realism that is not as
simple to model as other components.

The IR jammer and warning antenna set is straight forward and comprises of 4 rectangular IR jammers, 4 mounts, 4 radar warning antennas (smaller round sensor with
four othogonal tabs), two video pods and a round cap for the TADs turret.
Version Specifics
Apache 64 A The A version has radar warning antennas (white sensors in photo) located in the following places, two at the front of the sponsons that house the
main avionics, one midway under the tail boom and one at the back of the vertical tail fin facing backwards. |
 |
Apache 64 D The D version has the same front locations for the radar warning antennas and mounted adjacent, just behind them are the
IR Jammers. The IR Jammer is correctly mounted when the dome is upwards. The radar warning antennas on the bottom of the tail boom and the rear position
on the vertical tail boom have been moved and are now mounted on both sides tail boom pointing backwards using the included mounts.

Apache 64 D The other two IR jammers are now located on both sides of the top swashplate fairing, just behind the main shaft and have replaced
the single and larger pulsed IR jammer that resembled a disco light behind the main shaft. The video pods are located on either side
of the tail boom, near the front where it transitions to the main fuselage. This photo also shows the rear radar warning antenna installed on its mount.

Installation Tips
The mounts should be attached as a base detail on the fuselage preferably before priming to ensure they blend with the main fuselage color,
after priming, and painting, the jammers can be bonded to the painted surface or the mating surfaces can be lightly sanded to improved the adhesive.
Final detail painting and any weathering can then be applied.
