The Starwood 12mm rotor head system is designed for excellent stability in forward flight and delivers a crisp, cyclic response which is favorable to 3D and aerobatic pilots. This rotor head system is suitable for large glow, gas and turbine mechanics and is offered as the head only, or bundled with the washout unit and swashplate.

This is an impressive rotor head, designed and tested with a higher standard than we have applied to our distributed products. This rotor head system is very stable in forward flight, making it perfect for our scale helicopters. It has performed so well that we decided to include in our Odyssey turbine helicopter. Improved stability is only half of the reason we are so happy; our test pilots have been very pleased with its fast cyclic response when coupled with large, lightweight paddles and stiff carbon main blades. These combined components result in a very aerobatic rotor head, suitable for 3D flying.

Our rotorhead is versatile in that it can be setup for stability while learning and yet be reset in the future for aerobatics as your skills improve. Once pilots get into models needing this large a rotor head, the main blades contribute the most to the overall performance. Scale builders will perfer our OF 800 and OF 875mm fiberglass blades that, once the model is trimmed, can hover almost hands off.

All aspects of this rotorhead have been thoroughly reviewed and tested in several major revisions before we were satisfied that it could be released. Our goal was simple: to build a strong and robust rotor head that was simple to maintain and minimizes damage to its core components after a crash.
