This Starwood electric Lama belongs to Rick Jow flying on the stock motor included with the helicopter kit along with the SK720 flight stabilization system. Even on this windy day, you can see improved performance as the Lama descends smoothly. The combination of our stable rotor head and the Skookum system handles the largest of wind gusts which really improves the quality of flying larger models.

This is my personal Lama. After some experimentation, we have found better settings for the Skookum 360 as it applies to our large 2.3m Lama. The Lama is now very comfortable to fly in windy conditions. Flight response is more predictable and transitioning during descent is now relaxing rather than tense. Flying a three blade head is always different than two blades, but our Lama has a remarkably stable flight response.

This is the latest Starwood Lama helicopter we have built. Fitted with the optional turbine scale fuel tank and we have tinted the upper cabin windows. This is the first and second test flight with the Skookum 360 rotor head stabilizer which in our opinion improves the hovering in very windy conditions.

Over Christmas 2010, we received all of the cockpit scale detailing and have completed this SA315B Lama with a full cockpit, fitted with both the optional turbine fuel tank and stainless steel exhaust pipe. Weighing in at 29 1/2 lbs [13.4Kg] with fuel, this is an amazing model to fly.
