We are a fully qualified service center for Jakadofsky turbine engines in the USA and have been servicing engines from the
very first day we started selling and promoting Jakadofsky products. We carry a complete line of parts including: glow plugs,
valves, starter assemblies, clutches in addition to all of the standard parts that replaced during servicing.
Part of getting involved with Jakadofsky Jet Engines is providing services for PJW turbine engines. We
went to the Jakadofsky plant in Austria to complete an intensive training and certification course on performing routine
maintenance, repairing engines and calibrating them at the 25 hour required servicing.
Routine engine maintenance is very similar to full scale turbine engines. Consider the fact that the PJW-RS engine is
generating 5HP for an engine that weighs just 3 pounds, quite amazing when you think about it. The cost for all this
power is the need to replace the main turbine bearings, and have an engine diagnostic performed to look for other potential sources
of trouble. While many may think that this is a hardship, we think that after investing the better part of 8~10K in a model
helicopter, this is very reasonable as compared to having the engine quit inflight or the receiver going into lockout.

The PJW turbine engine is remarkably well designed. Jakadofsky has the experience with full scale turbines that has naturally
been applied to the model engine. Fuel system monitoring is probably the one area that is harder to troubleshoot than others.
The data console should be used at the end of each flight to monitor the Kerosene fuel pump voltages. This data should be recorded
and monitored over time. Simply put, as the voltages start to rise, this is a key indicator of a fuel leak or an air leak in the fuel
system that should be corrected. While this is only an example, good habits with turbine engines will lead to a long, healthy engine life.
Components as shown:
The PJW-RS gas turbine is mounted to a display board that shows how all the engine components work together. On the left is the main
fuel tank which usually consists of one tank per side of the helicopter, connected with a "Y" fuel fitting. This feeds a header tank
that deals with any flight induced air bubbles to supply the fuel pump with a constant fuel flow.
We have invested and outfitted our work area with the necessary tools, serviceable parts and diagnostic equipment to fully service any Jakadofsky turbine
at its regular service interval or a complete rebuild after a crash. Before any service is performed, we will provide a quotation for the
service and any necessary replacement parts that need to be changed after we receive the engine.
Engine Servicing:
To have your engine serviced, please follow these guidelines:
1. Remove your engine from your helicopter and insert the fuel line plugs that were originally supplied with your engine to avoid fuel from emptying
completely out of the engine. When you recieved your new engine, there was fuel already in the lines from the factory quality assurance
testing.
2. Pack your engine in the original shipping carton, sufficiently wrapped in foam to protect the engine in the event that the carrier
throws the box.
3. Ship the package to us, postage paid and make sure that the parcel is insured for $5000.00, in the unlikely event the carrier
loses your engine. We will pay return postage for your engine, insured and shipped by UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail. Please specify your
return shipping preference.
4. After we receive your engine, we will perform an initial inspection and provide a quotation for the servicing including the standard replacement
parts. If after we have completely pulled down your engine and addition components need replacing, we will contact you with an updated quotation. On approval
we will service your engine, complete an engine diagnostic and fully test your rebuilt engine before returning it to you.
