CH53 Sea Stallion
Since mid 2004 we have been utterly impressed with the quality of craftsmanship
that has gone into every rotorhead and rotorblade manufactured by OF. We are now very happy to offer
another unique helicopter fuselage for modelers to build, fly and enjoy. Don't let the scale confuse
you, this is a large fuselage modeled after a large full size helicopter.

The CH53 was originally commissioned
in the late 60's by the US Navy for a heavy lift helicopter and its first flight was October 4, 1964 entering
regular service in November 1966. Its cargo can vary widely from 37 troops or 8,000 pounds of payload.
It can be finished as either the CH53D Sea Stallion or modified to the CH53E Super Stallion depending on the
modeler's preferrences. Many CH53D helicopters have been recommissioned as Fire Stallions in civilian fire fighting roles.
Whether you prefer the military or civilian version, the CH53 will be an awesome scale flying model with OF's 6 blade
rotor head.
The CH53 is great to work on, as the openings and windows
are large enough to fit your hands easily inside and there is enough space to add a completely detailed cockpit and interior. While each
modeler decides how much detail is added, our photographs display an awesome example of how much detail is possible.
New modelers should be aware that between opening your new CH53 Sea Stallion fuselage box and finishing the model to the
level shown in the photographs can take between 3 to 12 months, depending on how much time you can commit to building
and finishing. |
