Odyssey v3.2

The Odyssey is well-suited for intermediate to expert pilots who want to get into turbine sport and aerobatic flying. Main rotor blades are not included for greater flexibility as each pilot has their preference, however we recommend the OF 800-875mm fiberglass main blades which we used exclusively during development and testing. The base assembled helicopter is available with or without the turbine engine.

The Odyssey ships in two boxes for the helicopter with the tail boom removed and a second box for the canopy. If you have ordered the Odyssey along with a Jakadofsky PJW engine, then the Jakadofsky gas turbine will already be installed in the helicopter. After careful unpacking you will realize that this is a large helicopter and considerations must be made for transporting the helicopter to and from your flying field.

Rotorhead:

  • Starwood machined Aluminum, rigid rotorhead for 12mm main shaft.
  • Billet machined, solid Aluminum T6061 rotor hub.
  • Blade grip pitch arms are detactable and are easy replaced.
  • Blade grips support 12-16mm blade roots.
  • 10mm Feathering spindle with large thrust bearings.
  • Underslung flybar with wrap around flybar control arm.
  • 5mm Long flybar with large aerobatic paddles.
  • Heavy duty 3mm hardened pushrods.
  • Large 6mm steel balls and heavy duty 6mm ball links throughout.
  • Machined washout unit with 8 ball bearings.
  • 12mm Machined ball bearing 120° eCCPM swashplate.
  • Machined Delrin anti-rotation bracket with mount.
  • Quality hardware and ball bearings used throughout.

Mechanics:

  • Designed for bottom mounted PJW-RS or PRO gas turbine engine.
  • Stainless steel wye exhaust optimized for maximum performance.
  • Machined bearing blocks and frame spacers are clear anodized.
  • Machined side and landing gear frames are black anodized.
  • 12mm hardened main shaft for high rigidity for all flight regimes.
  • 950 - 1460 variable head speeds through adjustable gear ratios.
  • Constant tail drive unit with heavy duty torrington clutch.
  • Selectable left or right hand main shaft rotation.
  • Machined dual bearing, push-pull cyclic bellcranks.
  • Short cyclic push-pull servo pushrods use nearly 100% of servo travel.
  • Dual 16oz, pre-built fiberglass reinforced fuel tanks with fittings.
  • High quality, fiberglass reinforced canopy with mounting grommets.
  • Extra long battery tray for radio, gyro and turbine components.
  • Aluminum T6061 landing gear with Aluminum landing skids.
  • High quality ball bearings and metric hardware used throughout.

Tail:
