The Odyssey was introduced to encourage experienced pilots who were interested in scale and turbine models to get started with a robust pod and boom helicopter that could be used as a trainer. After gaining flight confidence with the turbine engine in sport configuration, the modeler could then choose to install the tested turbine into a scale helicopter.
