When you first open this fuselage, it is extremely well packed and everything
is wrapped in plastic bags and then the paper and styrofoam peanuts are added to protect the components. After unwrapping each component you start to realize just
how much detailing has been done to this fuselage. Don't be fooled by the awesome pictures in the gallery. Major openings are already trimmed while the windshield,
upper windows, pilot and side door windows will need to be cutout along with the matching clear window set. The fiberglass has excellent surface finish and the
parts are lightweight but reinforced in areas that will open or moved frequently.
What sets apart this fuselage is the attention to detail and the amount of
work that is already done for the modeler. Inside the UH-1C Huey the major wooden formers are already precut and only require assembly, then installation into the fuselage. This is a
huge time saver and the detailed cutouts in the formers really adds that realism that is not found in other fuselages. The formers for the tail boom are precut, but
different mechanics will require changing some of the cutouts to suit the tail mechanics.
Turbine vs Gasoline Versions:
The differences between the Gasoline version and the Turbine version of the fuselage come down to this, the Turbine version includes two molded fuel tanks that are designed
to fit side-saddle style inside and just behind the former that is positioned at the rear of the main cabin door. The mechanics base is also wider to match the
footprint of the Turbine mechanics, the gasoline version is narrower.
