AH-Mk1 Scout LM1009
This fuselage was designed for the Jakadofsky turbine engine that really makes this an awesome
model because the Jakadofsky turbine requires almost no detailing to look perfectly scale. The shear amount of
detailing that is on the surface of the fuselage is impressive and only gets better when the first coat of
primer is sprayed and all of the details can be easily seen.
LM1009 AH-Mk1 Scout 1/5th Scale Fuselage for PJW Turbine $2,410.00
When you first open this fuselage, it is extremely well packed and everything is wrapped
in plastic bags and then the paper and styrofoam peanuts are added to protect the components. After
unwrapping each component you start to realize just how much detailing has been done to this fuselage.
Don't be fooled by the awesome pictures in the gallery. Major openings are already trimmed while the
windshield, upper windows, pilot and side panel windows will need to be cutout along with the matching
clear window set. The fiberglass has excellent surface finish and the parts are lightweight but reinforced
in areas that will open or moved frequently. Carbon fiber has been laminated into the main fiberglass
sections to add stiffness, especially in the upper cabin where there are only windows.
What sets apart this fuselage is the attention to detail and the amount of work that is
already done for the modeler. Inside the AH-Mk1 Scout the major wooden formers are already installed
and reinforced with Epoxy and fiberglass cloth, two molded fuel tanks, plus a header tank. This is a huge
time saver and the detailed cutouts in the formers really adds that realism that is not found in other
fuselages. The formers for the tail boom are precut but not installed as the type of mechanics may require
changing some of the cutouts to suit the tail mechanics.
