LHC201510  LHC Pegasus 18 ARF Helicopter w/Engine & Exhaust  $298.14

:: overview:: includes:: requires:: setup

The Pegasus comes packaged in the popular ARF (almost ready to fly) format requiring the final mechanical assembly, fastener check and the radio installation including the gyroscope. The rotor head system has an underslung flybar with washout and seesaw type mixing levers which give the helicopter precise control and excellent forward flight stability. The helicopter is designed to use 120°, 3 servo eCCPM to precisely drive the swashplate and control the rotor head. The main mechanics positions the engine towards the front with the fuel tank in the rear for good visibility while flying. The tail rotor is driven by a tail belt that provides the best tail control and works effortlessly with modern heading hold gyros. The tall landing gear and high mounted tail boom also helps keep the tail blades off the ground.

The Pegasus includes an .18 Smartech engine and tuned muffler. This engine and muffler, when fitted to the Pegasus provides a tidy but powerful combination. The Pegasus's 12:1 main gear ratio takes advantage of this high-rpm engine to deliver excellent power with a typical head speed of 1650 using the included wood blades. The Smartech engine looks like a gas powered buggy engine with its large, anodized heat sink head. Smartech's main product line has been gas powered cars which gives us excellent confidence in their design and manufacturing skill to building a powerful and reliable helicopter engine.

Our overall impression is that the Pegasus 18 is a great entry level helicopter. Once you look at its construction, quality parts and get to fly it, you will see what we mean. For those interested in scale, we are very happy to introduce several quality EZ Scale fiberglass fuselages that have been designed for the Pegasus that only require a few additional parts for the mechanics.
