Power Lighting System
LHC130 Series

The LHC Power lighting system is a compact, 'plug and play' scale lighting system that connects directly to your receiver and can be installed quickly with a few simple tools to add realistic scale lighting to your model. It features high intensity LED lamps which include 2 Red beacons, 2 White strobes, 1 Red and 1 Green navigation light. The lighting system includes expansion connectors for the optional Power landing light kit and will operate from power sources ranging from 4.8v to 9.0volts.

Power Scale LED Lighting System

A single servo lead connects the lighting module to the receiver and will fit most Futaba, JR, and JR compatible radio systems. One included switch turns the standard 6 LEDs on and off, while the second switch allows the optional landing lights to be switched on and off independently. Simple installations can be done in a few minutes, but helicopter modelers should take the extra time to properly mount and install the components. The lighting module is not water or fuel proof and should be mounted away from heat, moisure and vibration.

The Power lighting system uses high intensity LEDs for each lamp which makes installing the system straight forward. The power system includes two mechanical switches which are straight on-off switches for the light system. One switch controls the standard lights on the system, while the other allows the optional landing light kit to be switched on or off independently of the main navigation lights. A little planning before installing the lighting system can make your installation much easier. Taping, drilling and custom mounts are all good solutions when done correctly and are easy to accomplish with a little patience and time to complete the installation.

This system is designed to be connnected directly to your receiver and does not consume a lot of power, however, many modelers may prefer to install a separate power supply for their lighting and scale effects. Many modelers after a few days flying have a good idea of how much power they use per flight and can easily judge how many flights they can have safely on a fully charged battery. If you choose to rely on the receiver battery for your lighting system, it is strongly recommended to check your receiver battery before each flight using an expanded scale voltmeter (which simulates a constant load on your battery) and use one of the onboard battery monitors to give you a visual indication of remaining battery power. Combining the lighting system and an onboard battery monitor is still very safe, but you still should pay closer attention to the duration of each flight and receiver batteries should be changed more often.

Radio systems that have a failsafe setting which allows a preset positioning of the servos to be triggered in the event that there is a signal loss to the receiver can still be used with this Power lighting system. The low power draw from the system will not interfer with the failsafe. This almost exclusively applies to model airplanes, and it should be obvious, but installing any scale lighting in your model does not mean that you can fly at night. Your lighting system gives you another area that you can detail your scale airplane or helicopter closer to its full scale big brother.

Power Lighting System:

  • High quality LED lamps, wiring and switches.
  • Simple 'plug and play' receiver installation.
  • Low power consumption and can be used from the receiver battery.
  • Connects to the receiver using a spare channel or a 'Y' servo lead.
  • Switch included to turn main lighting system on and off.
  • Switch and connectors included for optional landing light kit.
  • Built-in regulator to allow an input voltage range of 4.8 - 9.0 volts.
  • Low amperage draw allows safe operation with receiver failsafe systems.
