Hi-Power Lighting System LHC140 Series
The LHC Hi-Power lighting system is a bright, compact and 'plug and play' scale lighting system that can
connect directly to your receiver and can be installed with a few simple tools to add very bright and realistic scale lighting
to your model. It features Luxeon LED lamps which include 2 Red beacons, 2 White strobes, 1 Red and 1 Green navigation light.
The lighting system includes expansion connectors for the optional Hi-Power landing light kit and will operate from power sources
ranging from 4.8v to 9.0volts.

Hi-Power Scale Luxeon LED Lighting System
While the single servo lead can connect the lighting module to your receiver, it is our recommendation that a separate
battery be used for this Hi-Power lighting system due to the high load it places on your receiver battery. The included servo lead
will fit most Futaba, JR, and JR compatible radio systems, but if you are using non-standard equipment, alway verify the correct polarity
in the servo connectors before applying power to the system. The Hi-Power system consumes a lot of power and can severly reduce your
flight time on your model. If can be safely used with your receiver but you need to make sure that the receiver's failsafe settings are
disabled. Do not look directly into the lamps when they are turned on when you are close to the model.
One included switch turns the standard 6 LEDs on and off, while the second switch allows the optional Hi-Power landing lights to be
switched on and off independently. The Red and Green navigation Luxeon LEDs which remain solid and do not flash have heat sinks already
installed and need addition work be mounted to your fuselage. The heat sink installed has been throughly tested to dissipate the heat
generated by these Luxeon LEDs and will avoid buring out the lamps. Do not leave the lighting system turned on for more than 1 hour at a
time with at least 15 minutes between flights to allow the Luxeon LEDs to cool. The Red and White strobe Luxeon LEDs do not have heat sinks
installed and should never be connected to solid or non-flashing modes without additional heat sinks added. The lighting module is not
water or fuel proof and should be mounted away from heat, moisure and vibration.

Hi-Power Lighting System turned on, without the landing light module.
The Hi-Power lighting system uses high intensity Luxeon LEDs for each lamp which makes installing the system more complicated because
each should have some form of a heat sink installed. While this Hi-Power lighting system will operate without heat sinks on its flashing
lamps, the maximum time limit for the system is 1 hour. Long usage will burn out the lamps. The Hi-Power system includes two mechanical
switches which are straight on-off switches for the light system. One switch controls the standard lights on the system, while the other
allows the optional landing light kit to be switched on or off independently of the main navigation lights.
If you choose to rely on the receiver battery for your Hi-Power lighting system, it is required to check your receiver
battery before each flight using an expanded scale voltmeter (which simulates a constant load on your battery) and use one of the onboard battery
monitors to give you a visual indication of remaining battery power. Combining the lighting system and an onboard battery monitor is
still safe, but you still should pay closer attention to the duration of each flight and receiver batteries should be changed
more often.
Radio systems that have a failsafe setting which allows a preset positioning of the servos to be triggered in the
event that there is a signal loss to the reciever must be disabled with this Hi-Power lighting system. The high power draw from the system
will trigger the failsafe prematurely. This almost exclusively applies to model airplanes and it should be obvious, but installing
any scale lighting in your model does not mean that you can fly at night. Your lighting system gives you another area that
you can detail your scale helicopter closer to its full scale big brother.
Hi-Power Lighting System:
- High quality Luxeon LED lamps, wiring and switches.
- Simple 'plug and play' receiver installation possible.
- Separate battery source recommended due to high amperage consumption.
- Connects to the receiver using a spare channel or a 'Y' servo lead.
- Switch included to turn main lighting system on and off.
- Switch and connectors included for optional landing light kit.
- Built-in regulator to allow an input voltage range of 4.8 - 9.0 volts.
- High amperage draw requires receiver failsafe to be disabled.
- High lamp temperature requires heat sinks to be used at all times.
