EZ Scale 50 size Agusta 109A LHC8401R
The quality of the LHC painted fuselages is likely very close to perfect in all regards. All major openings are cutout and
the Polyester fiberglass has been reinforced with carbon in areas that need it. The seam between the front
and rear fuselages features a professional butt joint with dowel pins and screws for fastening and the tail cap is a more
traditional, but perfect overlap joint. The pinstriping is done after the paint and a final top clear coat is applied to seal
it in and protect the finish from fuel and exhaust residues. Any additional detailing is super easy when starting from a perfect
paint finish.

When you first open this fuselage, it is extremely well packed with painted parts carefully wrapped in tissue paper to protect the painted
surfaces, some styrofoam parts and cardboard cut-outs to isolate the different components from touching each other inside the box. There is a clear bag that
contains the tail fins and mounting hardware and a single page that covers the overall assembly of the fuselage. Major openings and seams are already trimmed leaving only
to improve on the cooling fans exhaust route and any muffler exhaust pipe holes needed. The front windshield is molded in a single piece ready to be bonded on to the fuselage
which has a matching recess to achieve a flush mount. The fiberglass has excellent, high gloss painted surface finish and the parts are lightweight but reinforced in areas
that will open, moved frequently or join together.

In getting ready to start building your fuselage we have put together a frequently asked question and answer (FAQ) page that outlines questions that are
specific to the Agusta 109A fuselage and has a selection of general scale building Q&A as it applies to all of the LHC scale fuselages manufactured using Polyester resin.

Beginners new to scale fuselages should be aware that the time to complete this fuselage is significantly shorter than many other products we offer. The
quality of the fiberglass work is excellent and on the very rare occasion have we seen problems in the painted finish. On opening your fuselage, take the time to check all
the painted parts. Over the years, we have seen very few minor defects on these Polyester fuselages.
So how long does it take? Two weeks to a month is the short answer. This is more dependant on whether you are just building a sport fuselage or are planning
to add additional scale detailing. As the fuselage is already painted, please read our FAQ page on making holes in the fiberglass and how to properly seal the cut or grinded
seams to avoid fuel from seeping between the fiberglass and the paint. If you are planning to modify the painted scheme, then you need to throughly test your paint on a small
area on the inside that will not be seen if there is an incompatible paint reaction. Airbrushing is recommended, but we have seen good results from spray cans when the modeler
has some experience. The largest paint brush that should ever touch the fuselage should not be wider than 1/4" [6mm] and only used for fuel proofing or very minor touch ups.
Adding a pound worth of paint will certainly guarantee that a smaller 30~46 engine will not be able to keep your fuselage in the air or may never be able to get off the ground.
We have seen modelers complete a flying model with mechanics fitted and test flown in a weekend, but adding extra scale detailing might take another one to two
weeks depending on your choice of accessories and how long each component takes to install. Please be aware that any painting should be fuel proof and allowed to properly cure
before being exposed to fuel. An experience modeler can do all of this in a couple of weeks, but beginners should allow themselves one month as a general guideline.
