SCM Series

Each Fenestron VOG tail unit comes in a kit version according to the number of blades. Building the assembly is very straigth forward, but requires the same attention and care to set the hovering tail pitch. As the Fenestron VOG is skeletal in design, there is no extra work needed. It simply attaches directly to your existing Vario tail gear box.

Which Fenestron tail unit is needed? The tail units differ in their total diameter and number of tail blades. Fitting a particular fuselage is simply a matter of matching the diameter to the model. See the following listings:

SCM001 Fenestron 8 blade version.
  155mm Diameter
  EC120 - Left hand standard.
  Generally fits all Vario scale fuselages.

SCM002 Fenestron 10 blade version.
  155mm Diameter
  Vario EC135 - Left hand standard.
  Vario EC155 - Right hand standard.

SCM003 Fenestron 11 blade version.
  150mm Diameter
  Len Mount Dauphin N-4 - Left hand standard.
  Len Mount RAH-66 Comanche - Right hand standard.

SCM004 Fenestron 13 blade version.
  Custom diameter up to 180mm
  Gazelle - Special order only.

For example, Len Mount's Dauphin and Comanche have a smaller fuselage opening of 150mm, so we compensate with more tail blades. The Dauphin is scale with 11 blades but the Comanche (8 blades) is not statically scale. However, the tail's thrust is optimized for this tail diameter. To compensate for Fenestron tail units physically mounted on different models, the Vario tail gear box allows the tail output shaft to be reversed to change the direction of rotation. This ensures the Fenestron tail unit will operate equally in left or right side installations.

Matched and balance carbon tail rotor blades and carbon tail cap.
