Scale Winch B307115
The winch is now divided into two components to improve long term reliability, maintenance and make
installation easier. The winch is controlled by a heavy duty switch that is actuated by the included servo for raise, stop
and lower.
The winch is powered from a separate battery and conveniently includes the normal servo connector to use a standard receiver
battery.
The included red bobbin weight is attached to the end of the winch cable and is very scale when used on rescue models, but
can just as easily be replaced with a basket or cargo lift harness.

Instruction Manual
The remote controlled, operating winch comes complete as pictured. The winch mechanics are small and compact to fit inside a winch mount enclosure
like the Baumann B307116 Winch Mount that is commonly located externally, just above the cabin door or inside the cabin with a swing arm
that pivots when the cabin door is open. Either way, this winch will make a scale rescue basket, safety harness or cargo lift completely operational.

Battery Connector: Standard receiver style battery connector.
Connect the servo lead to any 3 position switched channel. Move the switch to its center position and attach the servo horn and
its linkage for the stop position on the switch. Check the endpoints to ensure the switch doesn't bind or mechanically move the pushrod
to a hole closer to the servo to avoid any binding and that's it. You are now ready to start experimenting to raise, lower and stop.
The winch is well designed and includes a safety stop to avoid binding the winch if the cable is run to its endpoints.
For those that have the original winch design, this is a bit of step backwards in some ways but scale pilots
will agree that simple and reliable can be much better than integrated and difficult to maintain. Customer feedback led
to separating the winch module from its control system so that in certain installations where the winch is mounted further from
the control switch module, It can be easily lengthened by only extending the power wires.
Using a mechanical switch for winch control made installation with all radios possible. Setup the auxillary switch
endpoints to be the same, or mechanically reduce the servo throw to avoid binding the servo and attach the servo horn when the
servo is centered and you are done. To simplify your battery installation, it is recommended to use another switch harness with
charge lead or charge connector to allow you to manually turn off the winch and charge its battery independent of your receiver's
battery. |
